Sentrana Named in Inc. 5000 Ranking of Fastest-Growing Private Companies in the U.S.

Sentrana Inc., the Washington D.C.-based provider of revenue optimization solutions, was today named the 846th fastest growing private company in the U.S. in Inc. Magazine’s prestigious 2009 Inc. 5000 ranking.
Sentrana’s patented MarketMover™ technology enables distributors of a wide range of products — including foodstuffs, auto parts, medical supplies, and building materials — to set prices, in real time, across entire geographies and inventories, in ways that capitalize on hourly changes in supply, demand and purchaser behavior.
Sentrana’s inclusion in the 2009 Inc. 5000 reflects a 352.88% total growth rate since the company’s inception in 2004.
The Inc. 5000 ranks privately held companies according to averaged year-over-year sales growth over the last five years. Widely recognized as a prescient indicator of companies and industries that are on a track for sustained success, many well-known brands, such as Intuit, UnderArmour, and Timberland, first rose to prominence in the Inc. 5000.
To be eligible for Inc. 5000, companies had to be independent and privately held through their fiscal year 2008, established in or before 2005, have had at least $200,000 in net sales in the base year of 2005, and $2 million in net sales for 2008. In addition, companies’ 2008 sales had to exceed 2007 sales. Inc. verifies all information using tax forms and audited financial statements from certified public accountants and by conducting interviews with company officials.
