In 2012, Sentrana participated in the DREAM Phil Bowen ALS Prediction Prize4Life Challenge.  The objective of participants in this challenge was to develop a disease progression algorithm for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a fatal neurological disease causing death of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord which control voluntary muscle movements - also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease (in the US) or Motor Neurone disease (outside the US).  Among 1,073 teams in the competition, Sentrana was awarded a first-place award for its disease progression model and was singled-out for its success at predicting individual patients.

In 2013, Sentrana spun-off Origent Data Sciences, founded for the specific purpose of bringing its intellectual property, technologies and methods to the life sciences industry.
